Zopiclone is a type of sleeping pill that can be taken for short-term treatment of severe insomnia.
It helps you fall asleep more quickly, and also helps stop you waking up during the night. It works by affecting a calming chemical in your brain called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
Zopiclone comes as tablets. It also comes as a liquid for people who find it hard to swallow tablets, but your doctor will have to order this specially.
Order by 1:30pm on a weekday to ensure your order is picked, processed and dispatched the same day, orders after 1:30pm will be dispatched on the next working day.
Please note:
Next-day Delivery UK orders between 1:30pm on Friday and 1:30pm on Monday are delivered on Tuesday.
Once we reach our cut-off point, which is 1:30pm, our team takes a short break from communications from 1:30pm until 5:00pm, so we can carefully pack and prepare our daily orders for next-day delivery. Bank holiday Mondays are a public holidays and therefore, Royal Mail do not operate a delivery service on these days, this also applies to all other public holidays such as Easter, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day (1st).
If you order your parcel on a Bank Holiday weekend, it will be dispatched on Tuesday and delivery will take place on the Wednesday.

Like all medicines, zopiclone can cause side effects, but not everyone gets them.
Common side effects
These common side effects of zopiclone happen in more than 1 in 100 people. There are things you can do to help cope with them:
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist if the advice on how to cope does not help and a side effect is still bothering you or does not go away.
It happens rarely, but some people have serious side effects when taking zopiclone.
Call your doctor or call 111 as soon as possible if you:
In rare cases, it’s possible to have a serious allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to zopiclone.
Immediate action required: Call 999 now if:
You or the person who’s unwell may also have a rash that’s swollen, raised, itchy, blistered or peeling.
These can be signs of a serious allergic reaction and may need immediate treatment in hospital.
Do not drive yourself to A&E.
The person you speak to at 999 will give you advice about what to do.

The usual dose is:
Your dose might be lower if you’re over 65 or have kidney or liver problems or severe breathing problems.
The amount of this medicine can lead to an overdose varies from person to person. Urgent advice: Contact 111 for advice now if you take more than your prescribed dose. Go to 111.nhs.uk or call 111If you need to go to A&E, do not drive yourself. Get someone else to drive you or call for an ambulance. Take the diazepam packet, or the leaflet inside it, plus any remaining medicine with you.
